Jomsom Muktinath Trekking

The Annapurna region offers a unique opportunity for spiritual trekking. The Jomsom Muktinath trekking route is designed as a holy destination trek. The trek is included in Annapurna region as part of the Annapurna Circuit, though it is in the Mustang region. Trekkers will see diverse cultures & landscape during the trek to Muktinath which is a holy pilgrimage site in Nepal and our final destination. The scenery is incredible with the Kali Gandaki River (deepest gorge in the world) a part of the trekking route.  There is also the opportunity to bathe in natural 108 degree hot springs.  The trek also includes old monasteries, beautiful landscapes, and local tribes.

The route goes through Ghorepani Poon hill, Tadapani, Ghasa, Tukuche, Muktinath, and Jomsom, which is the terminus.

Brief Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu exploration and preparation for trek.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (7 to 8 hours)

Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul drive & trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) – 3 Hours

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 Hours

Day 06: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) & to Tadapani (2610m) – 4 Hours

Day 07: Tadapani to Ghasa (2010m) – 5 Hours

Day 08: Ghasa to Tukuche (2586m) – 6 Hours

Day 09: Tukuche to Kagbeni (2810m) – 5 Hours

Day 10: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3802m) – 5 Hours

Day 11: Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m) – 5 Hours

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu.

There will be a warm welcome to you on Nepal after landing your flight at TIA. Representative of Shiva Excursion Pvt. Ltd. will there for your arrival. He/she will shift you toward your place of accommodation. After having rest for some time there will a brief description of the upcoming program with your guide.

Day 02: Kathmandu exploration and preparation for trek.

Our today’s day is spent by sightseeing all around Kathmandu Valley. Having a breakfast we will visit Pashupatinath (regarded as the holiest temple of Lord Shiva). Next will be Bauddhanath (Little Tibet). Then Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) is our next destination.  Lastly we will drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. It will end our Kathmandu tour we will return back & make preparation for our trekking.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (7 to 8 hours)

Now we will move for Pokhara. Our drive goes through Prithivi Highway. Our lunch will be on highway in very nice environment. In around 6 hours we will be at Pokhara. On reaching Pokhara we walk to Lakeside for watching charming sunset views. Then we will return back and have our dinner & enjoy.

Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul drive & trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) – 3 Hours

Having a short drive to Nayapul we will start our trekking. Reaching on Nayapul we will take our things and start walking. We may have a bit difficulty in walking in first day. All the things in surrounding will be amazing for us. We will climb until & unless we will be at Tikhedhunge for spending a first walk night.

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 Hours

We were tired and we will have a very good sleep. Waking up we will have breakfast and again make preparation for walking. Today our destination will be Ghorepani. Ulleri is our lunch point. It is beautiful Magar village of Nepal. Resting after lunch we will walk about 3 hours to reach Ghorepani for night.

Day 06: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) & Tadapani (2610m) – 4 Hours

Today we will wake a bit early and start our hiking toward Poon Hill (one of the best view point in Annapurna region). We will be offered with the many mountain ranges. For memory we can take a picture in camera. Spending about an hour we will return back to Ghorepani. We will have our breakfast and continue our walk to next destination Tadapani.

Day 07: Tadapani to Ghasa (2010m) – 5 Hours

Ghasa is our next walking destination. It is going to be an easy walk. Our main walking trial is the beautiful forest of rhododendron. Lastly we will reach beautiful Ghasa village. In the remaining time we will roam around the beautiful area. Lastly we will be back to our place for our accommodation.

Day 08: Ghasa to Tukuche (2586m) – 6 Hours

Tukuche (Thakali community village) is our today’s destination of trek. In our starting journey we will cross eastern side of river (entrance of Larjung). Continuing our trial in zigzag trial we will reach Khobang village. Resting some time we will continue our walk till we reach Tukuche for incredible night.

Day 09: Tukuche to Kagbeni (2810m) – 5 Hours

Waking up early in the morning we will have breakfast and make preparation to climb on side of valley to kagbeni. Ekle Bhatti (direct route to Muktinath) will be our main walking trial. In junction of Jhong Khola & Kali Gandaki River we will spend little time and continue our walk to kagbeni for our night.

Day 10: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3802m) – 5 Hours

Today is the main day of our trekking as we are heading to Muktinath (holy pilgrimage of hindu & Buddhist people). The cool air blown us will refresh our mind in our whole walk. We may have difficult as we need to walk on storm trial. We need to walk on land of fully covered sand to reach Muktinath for night.

Day 11: Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m) – 5 Hours

From Muktinath, we will continue to Jomsom. Jomsom will be our ending point of our trek. During our walk we will be full of joy viewing beautiful glimpse of giant mountain ranges. We will have easy walk as we need to walk on flat & downhill trial. On reaching jomsom we will make confirmation of our tomorrow’s flight to Pokhara and rest the remaining time.

Day 12: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara

We will have early morning flight toward Pokhara. It will be about 1 Hr. in one hour duration we will feel as if we are flying in heaven. We will be flying above the beautiful ranges of mountains. On reaching Pokhara we walk to Lakeside for watching charming sunset views. Then we will return back and have our dinner & enjoy.

Day 13: Pokhara to Kathmandu

We need return back to Kathmandu. We will return back through the same highway. We will be pleased with houses and greenery of highway. Not only this can we be back by the airplane. Driving around seven hours we will be at Kathmandu. We will be shifted toward our hotel which will end our trekking.

Day 14: Farewell

Spending a rest night at Kathmandu, it’s a time for returning back to your home land. There will be a small farewell program for you. You will be guided all the things of returning journey by our team for your departure. Hope you will be back to Nepal to visit the remaining side of beautiful Nepal.
