Everest Three High Passes Trek is This is one of the renowned trekking routes in the Everest region. Tibetan traders used this route for centuries. Renjo La Pass (5388 m, 17,677 ft.), Kongma La Pass (5535 m, 18,159 ft.) and Cho La Pass (5380 m, 17,650 ft.) are included in the route, and crossing these three passes will certainly be the highlight of the trip. The altitude gains during the trek make for a tough but spectacular and well-earned hike. The gateway of the Everest Three High Pass Trek is Lukla, and the route continues into Sagarmatha National Park. There will be opportunities to view rare plants and maybe even animals conserved in the National Park. The entire trekking route is panoramic and will traverse landscapes from the low lands to the high lands of Everest region.
Everest Three High Passes Trek requires long days of trekking and the route is difficult on narrow, zigzag trails. While trekking experience is preferred but not required, participants should be in excellent physical and aerobic condition. Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
There will be a warm welcome to you on Nepal after landing your flight at TIA. A representative of Shiva Excursion Pvt. Ltd. will there for your arrival. He/she will shift you toward your place of accommodation. After having rest for some time there will a brief description of the upcoming program with your guide.
Day 02: Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu Valley and Pre-trip Preparation
Our today’s day is spent sightseeing all around Kathmandu Valley. Having breakfast we will visit Pashupatinath (regarded as the holiest temple of Lord Shiva). Next will be Bauddhanath (Little Tibet). Then Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) is our next destination. Lastly, we will drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. It will end our Kathmandu tour we will return back & make preparation for our trekking.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Lukla (2860m) Flight and trek to Phakding (2610m) – 4 Hours
With an early morning mountain flight to Lukla, our journey starts. We will be offered with the magnificent view of mountain ranges. Reaching on Lukla we take our luggage and begin our walking trek toward Phakding. It’s our first day so we don’t need to walk more than 3 to 4 hours.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3441m) – 5 Hours
After having breakfast we continue our journey to Namche Bazaar. Following the main trial of Dudh Koshi River, we will enter the area of Sagarmatha national park. Continuing our journey for about 5 to 6 hours finally we will be able to reach Namche Bazaar for spending our memorable night.
Day 05: Acclimatization at Namche
Today is our rest day at Namche Bazaar. We need to accumulate our self for matching climatic condition of the surrounding. In our leisure time, we will visit several places around places over Namche Bazaar. Knowledge of tradition & culture of the local people of Namche Bazaar is very interesting in getting.
Day 06: Namche to Tyangboche (3840m) – 6 Hours
Accumulating our self with weather at Namche Bazaar Tengboche 3800m is our next walking destination. Quite close magnificent view of beautiful ranges of the mountain will impress us in our journey. Playing on nature unknowingly we will reach Tengboche for Overnight.
Day 07: Tyangboche to Dingboche (4360m) – 6 Hours
From Tengboche our next destination is Dingboche. The zigzag trial will be our main walking path. Mountain ranges are very close and are very impressive. We will rest in several viewpoints. For memory, we can take the picture and capture with us. In this way, we will lastly we will be at Dingboche for our night.
Day 08: Dingboche to Chukung (4750m) – 4 Hours
Our today’s destination is Chukung. It is a short hike to Chhukung. We will walk through Imja Khola valley. In our journey, we will remain active today as we need to walk a short distance. We are self will be the witness from Imja Khola, by viewing the splendid views of surrounding mountains especially Lhotse.
Day 09: Rest Day at Chukung
As per the recommendation of trekking experts, we will accumulate our self at Chukung. Since we are going to cross the Kongma La pass. In our daytime, we will climb the Chukung Ri or climb Island Base Camp. Finishing all this we will return back to our place for preparation for the next day and Overnight.
Day 10: Chukung to Kongma La (5535m) and then to Lobuche (4940m) – 7 Hours
Early morning glorious view of sparkling mountains in rising sun will impress us so much. Then we will continue our walk to Lobuche crossing Kongma La pass. We need to be the active whole day. Our way is full of beauty of nature combined with the panoramic view of high mountain ranges. It will be a memorable night spending on Lobuche.
Day 11: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5170m) to EBC (5364m) and back to Gorakshep – 9 Hours
We will climb up to Everest base camp. It will be a long climb as we need to return back to Gorakshep. Without stopping we will continue until we reach base camp. On reaching the top we will be offered with the panoramic view all around us. Spending our few precious time it will be the time of our returning Journey. For memory, we will capture the picture in our camera. Lastly, we will return back & spend a relaxing night at a land of the Himalayas.
Day 12: Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5545m) to Lobuche – 9 Hours
It will be as if we are resting after a long trek. We will hike up to Kalapattar and trek down to Lobuche. Spending our some of the precious time we need to return back to our place. We will spend our whole day sightseeing around the places. Lastly, we will be back to our place for spending Overnight.
Day 13: Lobuche to Dzongla (4830m) – 4 Hours
Continuing our trek we just need to trek a short distance. From Lobuche, our trail to Dzongla is branching off. Spectacular views of Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Kangtenga are so much impressive on the way ahead to Dzongla. Like this, we will eventually reach Dzongla to spend our cool night.
Day 14: Dzongla to Chola (5368m) to Thangnag (4680m) to Gokyo (4800m) – 8 Hours
Our today’s walk is the main walk of whole trekking. Our main destination is Gokyo Lake. Descending down through the river will be our main walking trail. Chola & Thangnag is also climbed. We will be happy with the Glorious view of the surrounding. Spending our sometime on Gokyo Lake we will back to our place for a night.
Day 15: Exploration Day in Gokyo and hike to Gokyo Ri (5357m) – 4 Hours
Hiking up to Gokyo Ri will fulfill our project. We need to start our journey a bit earlier as we will be walking a long distance. Panoramic views of Mount Everest with other mountain ranges will be full of joy and excitement. We need to have better weather condition. Spending some of the precious time in Gokyo Ri we will return back to Gokyo for returning back.
Day 16: Gokyo to Renjo La (5360m) to Marlung (4210m) – 8 Hours
Today we will fulfill our final destination Renjo La Pass. We will leave the main trail and turn to Renjo La by the trial of Dudh Pokhari. We need to walk a long distance to cross this pass. Crossing it we will walk to downhill track until we reach to Marlung for celebrating the completion of our destination.
Day 17: Marlung to Namche
It is our returning journey it will be so much easy in walking. We just need to trek downward following the main trial to reach Namche Bazaar. The same beauty of nature with mountain ranges from different angel will be so much impressive. Continuing in downhill track we will reach Namche Bazar.
Day 18: Namche to Lukla
Our today’s walk will be the last walk of our climb. We will walk through the main trial of the Dudh Koshi River. We will be at Sagarmatha National Park. On reaching Lukla we will make confirmation of our tomorrow’s flight to Kathmandu and rest the remaining time.
Day 19: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
We will have an early morning flight toward Kathmandu. It will be about 1 Hr. in one hour duration, we will feel as if we are flying in heaven. We will be flying above the beautiful ranges of mountains. Lastly, we will be shifted toward our hotel for our night and make preparation for tomorrow’s flight.
Day 20: Final Farewell
Spending a rest night at Kathmandu, it’s a time for returning back to your home land. There will be a small farewell program for you. You will be guided all the things of returning journey by our team for your departure. Hope you will be back to Nepal to visit the remaining side of beautiful Nepal.
