Langtang Gosaikunda Trek leads you to the spectacular Langtang Valley and to Gosaikunda Lake, which is a famous pilgrimage site for Hindu devotees. On the trek you will experience the culture of the local Tibetan people, view glaciers, lakes and snowy peaks, and learn about Hindu religion and beliefs. We begin this trek at Syrabrubesi, then ascend through the rhododendron forest of Langtang National Park with the possibility of seeing Red Pandas or Snow Leopards. The highly spiritual Tibetan influenced ethnic communities along the trek are humble and hospitable. After the trek to the Langtang Valley, the trek descends to the city of Lama Hotel and heads toward Sing Gompa. Via Lauribinayak, you ascend to the Gosaikunda Lake, which remains frozen almost half of the year. This sacred Hindu lake is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva. During the trek, you have an opportunity to view mountains such as Langtang Lirung (7246 m, 23,772 ft.), Naya Kangri (5846 m, 19,179 ft.), Gang Chhenpo (6388, m, 20,958 ft.), Dorje Lakpa (6966 m, 22,854 ft.), Mt. Manaslu (8156 m, 26,758 ft.), Ganesh Himal, Sishapangma and others. Finally, you descend to Dhunche and drive back to Kathmandu.

Note: Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking can be extended by joining to the Helambu Valley via Ghopte after crossing the Lauribina Pass (4610 m, 15,124 ft.) providing you more opportunity to explore the Sherpa Valley of the Helambu. Let us know how to tailor your experience to meet your needs.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu.

There will be a warm welcome to you on Nepal after landing your flight at TIA. Representative of Shiva Excursion Pvt. Ltd. will there for your arrival. He/she will shift you toward your place of accommodation. After having rest for some time there will a brief description of the upcoming program with your guide.

Day 02: Kathmandu exploration and preparation for trek.

Our today’s day is spent by sightseeing all around Kathmandu Valley. Having a breakfast we will visit Pashupatinath (regarded as the holiest temple of Lord Shiva). Next will be Bauddhanath (Little Tibet). Then Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) is our next destination.  Lastly we will drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. It will end our Kathmandu tour we will return back & make preparation for our trekking.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi (1462m) – 8 Hours

Now we will move for Syabrubesi. Our drive goes through Trishuli Highway. Our lunch will be on highway in very nice environment. In around 6 hours we will be at Syabrubesi. On reaching Syabruebesi we can visit and have a hot water bath. Then we will return back and have our dinner & enjoy.

Day 04: Syabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2500m) – 5 Hours

Our trek starts after crossing the Suspension bridge of Bhote Koshi River. We need to fully walk on the forest of pine, juniper and many more species of trees. These all are so much amazing. We may have a bit difficulty in walking. We will climb until & unless we will be at lama hotel for spending a first walk night.

Day 05: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3307) – 5 Hours

We were tired and we will have a very good sleep. Waking up we will have breakfast and again make preparation for walking. Today our destination will be Langtang village. From the track we will have glimpse of Langtang Mountain. It will be very beautiful. Buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, barley, etc are cultivated by the local people can be observed.

Day 06: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3798m) – 4 Hours

Waking up early morning we will have the view of beautiful surrounding all around us with our breakfast. Then we will be ready to move for Kyanjin Gompa (Yak Pasture Land). With a short gradually climb will lead us Kyanjin. On reaching we will have rest for few time and we will spend our leisure time visiting on Government operated cheese factory and many other places.

Day 07: Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and Climb to TserkoRi (5150m)

Today is our rest day at Kyanjin Gompa. We need to accumulate our self for matching climatic condition of surrounding. In day time we will climb Tserko Ri. From here we can get splendid view of mountains all around us. Knowledge of tradition & culture of local people of Kyanjin is very interesting is getting.

Day 08: Kyanjin Gompa to GhodaTabela

Accumulating our self at kyanjin gompa we will return back through same way in very energetic way. But our destination is Ghoda Tabela. We will have the view of same things and place. Our looking way and sense of humor will be different. Walking slowly we will unknowingly reach Ghoda Tabela for our night.

Day 09: GhodaTabela to Bamboo

After having breakfast we will be ready for our next destination Bamboo. Our returning journey is very easy as we just need to trek downward. We will return through same route of glorious forested area with beautiful flowers & smell coming from them. On reaching Bamboo we will have rest.

Day 10: Bamboo to Thulosyabru

Now our today’s walk leads us to next part of our region. We will trek to Gosaikunda which is the main theme of our trekking. Our today’s walk is a bit difficult as we need to walk upward to Thulosyabru. We will be a bit amazed as we need to combine our living style with Tamang community people.

Day 11: Thulosyabru to Singgompa

After having breakfast our journey leads us to Singgompa. Our main walking path will be forest of oak & rhododendron. We will be walking on the top of a ridge. We need to walk a steep climb. Walking short distance we will reach Singgompa. Buddhist Monastery of Singgompa is very important Buddhist culture to explore.

Day 12: Singgompa to Goshaikunda

Early morning after having breakfast we will be ready for our main walk as we will reach Goshaikunda. It is the main destination of our whole trek. Crossing a ridge we pass through forest of mosses & ferns. Reaching on Lauribinayak, the panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Range, Ganesh Himal & Langtang Lirung is observed. Spending some of our time around Goshaikunda we will return back for our night.

Day 13: Goshaikunda to Dhunche

Waking up early in the morning we will have the beautiful view of Lake Goshaikunda. This lake is equally sacred to Buddhists and Hindus. We can see the unbelievable views of surrounding mountains from here. For memory ewe can capture it in our camera. Spending some of our precious time we will return back have our lunch and continue our journey to Dhunche.

Day 14: Dhunche to Kathmandu

We need return back to Kathmandu. We will return back through the same highway. We will be pleased with houses and greenery of highway. Our lunch will be in the highway under the beauty of nature. Driving around 6 hours we will be at Kathmandu. We will be shifted toward our hotel which will end our Gosaikunda lake trekking.

Day 15: Farewell

Spending a rest night at Kathmandu, it’s a time for returning back to your home land. There will be a small farewell program for you. You will be guided all the things of returning journey by our team for your departure. Hope you will be back to Nepal to visit the remaining side of beautiful Nepal.

  • 3 nights your standard hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast.

  • All 3 meals per day during the trek [B+L+D]
