Experience required for Everest Base Camp Trekking
Everest base camp trekking is no doubt, adventurous trekking that requires some basic preparations before the trek kicks off. It is great if you do a small trek in Nepal,maybe for 2-3 days, before youproceed towards the EBC. Besides this, a regular walk for at least half an hour a day, skipping, Zumbaclasses and similar types of exercises that keep you physically fit are highly recommended activities to follow. If you are comfortable walking with your health, you can fully enjoy the trip. However, it is not mandatory to have previous trekking experience in Nepal.

Accommodation in the Everest Base Camp trekking:
Well, vast changes can be seen on the Everest base camp trekking trail in terms of accommodation that the information you can get in the guide-book. There are variations in accommodation like basic lodges, medium hotels, and luxurious ones. All the lodges and hotels offer clean beds, wifi facilities, warm dining halls, mobile harging, and a hot shower. You need to pay extra for mobile charging, wifi, and a hot shower. Basic lodges are cozy, whereas luxurious travelers can stay in a room with an attached bathroom; however, you need to pay extra if you use this service.
Insurance for Everest Base Camp Trekking:
You must have insurance that covers medical and emergency rescue services up to the altitude of 6000 meters. Although our team makes a full effort to make your trip safe and sound, sometimes high altitude sickness might bring unprecedented results and in this condition, we need to evacuate you by helicopter. It is because there are no modern and facilitated hospitals nearby the Everest base camp. So, travel insurance builds up your confidence and you can enjoy a hassle-free trek to Everest base camp.
Meals in Everest Base Camp trekking:
You will have dinner and breakfast at lodges/hotels, where you will stay overnight, and lunch at the available restaurant on the way. You will get variations in meals in the restaurants and hotels, from typical Nepali, Indian, Chinese and Continental menus. There is a proverb in Nepali, especially for foreigners: Dal Bhat Power 24 Hour, which is a national cuisine of Nepal. Hot meals with soup, mixed with garlic and soup are highly recommended.
Transportation used in Everest Base Camp Trek:
During trekking, mainly two types of transportation are used. For pick up from the airport, drop and sightseeing, private air-conditioned tourist vehicles (car/jeep/Hiace/bus) are used. From Kathmandu to Lukla and back to Kathmandu, you need to take a 35 minutes flight. In case of emergency, helicopters are used for evacuation from the rural part of eastern Nepal, which is called the Khumbu region.
Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) in Everest Base Camp Trekking:
Acute Mountain Sickness (aka High Altitude Sickness) is both a minor problem and a risky issue on the Everest base camp trekking. If you respond to the high altitude sickness properly, it does not create serious problems. You will feel the symptoms of AMS above 3000 meters. As soon as you feel about it, you need to trek downhill and take a rest. Acclimatization is the best way to avoid high altitude problems and some foods are recommended along with the medicines that your doctor advised, like garlic soup, ginger, and so on. You should avoid smoking and drinking alcohol on the trek.
